Nearly 25,000 Lost Power in South-East Queensland and Victoria Following Severe Weather Systems
Approximately 25,000 homes in south-east Queensland were left without power on Monday morning after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, generating strong winds reaching 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Damage
Residents observed giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. Weather authorities announced that various areas across the state had been impacted by significant hail.

Emergency crews were working to restore power throughout the damaged zones, with dozens of response units deployed to manage the extensive power failures.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 energy customers in Victoria also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its wettest day in a year and a half.
State Emergency Services handled nearly 600 calls for help across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and inundation.

- Wyndham area - over 175 calls for assistance
At one point on yesterday, in excess of 28k electricity consumers in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Meteorological Predictions
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this next several days as a low-pressure trough continued to draw in moisture against the coastal areas.
Tomorrow was predicted as the most rainy day, with continued thunderstorm potential anticipated across various areas of both states.

Public health experts warned that there was an higher risk of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, especially given the current weather patterns.
